MERSEA ISLAND HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
Summer Show held on 15th July 2006
The Show attracted a good number of visitors to view nearly 300 exhibits of Vegetables, Flowers, Fruit, Flower Arrangements, Home Industries and photography creating a colourful display and of a high standard. Winner of the people’s choice voted for by vistors was a Pot of nearly black Lilies entered by Marion Carvey. The Banksian Medal was awarded to Dennis Baldwin for his exhibits of mainly vegetables. Cream Teas proved popular and the plant stall and raffle ticket sellers were kept busy. Kate Wingar was awarded the trophy for the best exhibit in entire Show for her Edible Design made from biscuits. Cakes, sweets etc on a plate in the Children’s classes
Congratulations to 12 year old Rosie Farthing for winning 2 novice trophies in adult classes keep it up Rosie new young exhibitors are very welcome
